"Sanjay Singh Was Being Implicated In A Fabricated Case": Advocate Farrukh Khan

Lucknow: Welcoming the bail being granted by the Supreme Court to Sanjay Singh in the excise policy case, Advocate Farrukh Khan on Tuesday said that the AAP leader was being implicated in a fabricated case.

"The Supreme Court has accepted Sanjay Singh's bail petition today. Senior advocate Abhishek Singhvi made the arguments for Sanjay Singh. He presented how Sanjay Singh was implicated. He was being implicated in a fabricated case, there was never a case against him. Sanjay Singh will be out soon after furnishing bail bonds," said Farrukh Khan, who is also counsel for Sanjay Singh in the excise policy case.

A bench led by Justice Sanjiv Khanna earlier in the day directed the release of Sanjay Singh on bail during the pendency of trial in the money laundering case relating to irregularities in excise policy.

The Enforcement Directorate informed the apex court that the agency had no objection to Singh getting bail. The court observed that Sanjay Singh had spent six months in jail.
