Fans Chant 'Kohli, Kohli' During Naveen's Bowling Against KKR
Kolkata (West Bengal) : The ugly dispute between Virat Kohli and Afghanistan pacer Naveen-ul-Haq has made headlines in the ongoing Indian Premier League and the rivalry between the two is still very much alive as fans’ chants of ‘Kohli, Kohli’ filled the stands at the Eden Gardens during Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 match between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) as Naveen-ul-Haq came on to bowl.
However, during LSG’s final league game against Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens on Saturday, fans went above and beyond to chant ‘Kohli, Kohli’ at moments when Naveen bowled in the Mecca of Cricket, with the video going viral on social media. Jason Roy was batting at the time of the incident, which occurred during the second over of the KKR innings. On that over, the Englishman blasted the Afghan pacer for two fours and a six.
A user name Mufaddal_Vohra shared a viral video in which fans were heard chanting ‘Kohli, Kohli.’
Naveen-ul-Haq responded to the ‘Kohli Kohli’ chants from the Eden Gardens crowd by making the ‘shush down’ sign with his finger on his mouth. During Naveen-ul-Haq’s over, the home crowd of the Kolkata Knight Riders flooded the stadium with Kohli chants, and this was the pacer’s response.
LSG Mentor Gautam Gambhir did the same thing at M Chinnaswamy Stadium and Virat Kohli gave a reply to it at Ekana Sports City Stadium after which Kohli also got into a dispute with Gambhir and Naveen ul-Haq.
